SIR — I attended the 60s-plus road show held at Timberscombe recently and what an interesting morning it was. There was an excellent presentation and slideshow on aspects of driving safely, along with questions and answers. Also there were stands where you could have your blood pressure checked, an eyesight check and a driving simulator, plus first aid advice with the Red Cross. Everyone was given a goodie bag containing pen, torch, hi-vis jacket, a copy of the Highway Code and much more, and all this was free including tea and coffee breaks. An optional extra was to sign up to have your driving assessed on an advanced drivers' day. Completely your choice, this costs £20 for a one to one drive on a day and time to suit yourself. Unfortunately attendance was really poor, and if more people do not show an interest then funding will be cut. So next time you see this event advertised, please go and take part, you will enjoy it.
