MYSTERY surrounds a bank robbery which took place in Minehead this week.
The town’s only bank, NatWest, in The Parade, was closed on Monday (July 6) with its front door boarded up.
Three police cars and a forensics team were called to the premises – but an Avon and Somerset Constabulary spokesperson could not tell the Free Press what had happened because nobody had logged the incident.
A NatWest spokesperson confirmed the branch was broken into during the early hours of Monday but would not say if anything had been taken.
The spokesperson said: “The branch remained closed on Monday as our colleagues worked with local police as part of their investigation.
