MINEHEAD will be left with three bank ATM cash machines if a planning application by HSBC to Somerset West and Taunton council’s planning committee is successful.
The branch, in an 1850 grade two listed building in Wellington Square, is due to close in May, leaving NatWest, TSB ad Santander cash machines in the town centre.
HSBC have applied for planning permission and listed building consent to remove the ATM, signage and CCTV and reinstate a window and stone sill to match the original façade.
The application to Somerset West and Taunton Council said: “HSBC are vacating the premises and surrendering the building to the landlord who will submit an application for development of the site in the future.

“Where possible, sustainable methods will be used during the works, including the recycling of removed material and furniture from the site.”
The application will be decided by officers under delegated powers or referred to the planning committee if there are objections.
