A WEST Somerset sex offender with a string of previous offences has been jailed after breaching a court order imposed six weeks ago after his last crime.

Stephen Watkins, of Alcombe, Minehead, appeared in Taunton Crown Court and admitted living in the same property as a child under the age of 16 without social services approval.

He was prohibited from doing so by a sexual harm prevention order made by the court in June following his admission to outraging public decency by performing a sex act in front of two 13-year-old girls near Bridgwater in 2022.

Judge Richard Shepherd jailed Watkins for six months for breaching the order and activated a nine-month sentence suspended in June, making a total of one year and three months imprisonment.
