GRANDMOTHER Venetia Moore took on a challenge on the world’s fastest seated and steepest zip lines and raised more than £3,200 to help her seriously ill baby granddaughter.
Eleven-month-old Maddison-Grace has been fighting for her life in the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children after being born with two life-threatening heart and lung conditions, and has had two heart surgeries with more needed.
Ms Moore, a hypnotherapist, holistic wellness practitioner, and transformational coach from Minehead, said the zip line, where people can travel faster than 100 mph, had been ‘an exhilarating experience’.
She said: “I had never done anything like that before, but I had brave little Maddie in my heart for courage all the way.

“My focus on little Maddison’s wellbeing and the importance of supporting her family helped me keep my nerves steady as I waited.
“After very thorough safety checks, the moment finally came to let go and zip away.
“The views were absolutely amazing, and the incredible feeling of speed as I soared over the land and through the trees was truly extraordinary.
“It was a unique and unforgettable experience, and I was so glad to have achieved it, not only for Maddison and her family, but also for myself, as I faced my fear and pushed beyond my comfort zone.

“I am also delighted to say that the challenge raised over £3,000.
“A huge thank you to everybody who supported me and helped make this possible.
“It means so much to know that this achievement will make a difference to Maddison and her family.
“Each day, she is on the edge of life.
“She is such a brave little soul, attached to medical equipment she still manages to smile and shine her light so bright.
“Her parents are amazing, staying as strong as they can for her through this incredibly tough time, and all the medical staff have been fantastic.”
The funds raised will help Maddison-Grace’s parents Luke and Chelsea Moore cope with the financial pressures as they are not able to work while their baby is so seriously ill.

Ms Moore has been a practitioner for 35 years and founded Minehead’s award-winning True Nature wellness clinic, which is situated above Toucan Wholefoods.
The business has won two further awards this year from Prestige Awards, which were presented at a business awards event held at Ashton Gate Stadium, in Bristol.
The two accolades were ‘Holistic Wellness Service of the Year’ and ‘Hypnotherapy Service of the Year’, both for the South West of England.
Ms Moore said: “My vocation remains my absolute passion, pleasure, and purpose.
“I firmly believe that holistic wellbeing is the foundation of a happier, healthier, more meaningful life of wellness, incorporating hypnotherapy has powerfully enhanced this mission.
“It is a true privilege to guide clients through their transformational journey, both online and in person, helping them heal deeply, progress, and truly flourish.
“I am deeply grateful for this recognition of my dedicated work over the years.”
