TWICE-weekly Covid spring booster sessions are being held in Minehead starting on Monday (April 22) for people aged over 75 years and those who are vulnerable.

Appointments must be booked for the clinics in Minehead Community Hospital, which will be run on Mondays and Saturdays between 9.15am and 5.30pm until June 30.

People can book once they have received their invitation by calling 119 or going online to https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/covid-19-services/covid-19-vaccination-services/book-covid-19-vaccination.

Covid-19 is recognised to be more serious in older people and those with underlying health conditions.

Generally, those eligible include people aged 75 years and over, those in care homes, and those aged six months and over with a weakened immune system.

Vaccination teams nationally have been vaccinating residents in care homes since mid-April.

The nearest walk-in vaccination clinics where appointments are not needed can be found by using the NHS website.
