MINEHEAD Business Improvement District announced this week that Karen Morledge has taken over as interim Minehead BID manager, with support from social media manager Sarah Hannah. The new team will replace Andrew Hopkins who had been in post since November 2018.

Minehead BID chairman Graham Sizer said: "Andrew has been a great asset to ourBID. As our first five-year BID term progressed from 2018 it became plainly clear we’d struck gold.

"From a blank canvas, Andrew systematically tackled our business plan and we are very proud of the achievements we have made together. While we are sorry to see him leave, we are delighted to welcome Karen to the team in her new role.

"Having taken over as our social media managers in November, Karen and Sarah have already made a significant impact to our work and with Karen’s experience of BIDs and destination management and marketing, she was an ideal candidate to become the interim BID manager."

"The new team join us at an exciting time as we prepare for the second term BID ballot in 2023 and I have no doubt will have an extremely positive effect on our activities."

Karen Morledge, the new Minehead BID manager, said: "I’m very much looking forward to supporting the business community in Minehead and working with everyone to deliver the variety of exciting projects and initiatives over the remaining term of the BID.

"Minehead is a great place and I’m determined to carry on the great work of Andrew Hopkins to ensure the town has a great 2022 for both locals and visitors alike."
