NEW research has named Minehead Beach as the eighth best place to paddleboard in the whole of the UK.

Looking at the water quality, average sunshine hours, popularity, and wind speed, outdoor experts at GO Outdoors have named the best places for water-based sports across the country.

Their study also looked at the best places to go wild swimming, surfing and kayaking as well as the best water sports attraction in the UK. 

Silecroft Beach, in Cumbria, has been judged the best sport for paddle-boarding.
