MINEHEAD Barbarians’ rugby players are back in pre-season training - and they’re had a beach of a time! Their new head coach Jack Claydon has had them working out on Minehead Beach on a team bonding exercise. “There’s been a great turnout over the past two weeks,”said Claydon. “All involved have put in a lot of effort. “Building on from here I’m really looking forward to what the lads can achieve out on the pitch. There’s a great squad atmosphere for both the firsts and seconds.” The 30-year-old, who rejoined Minehead from Taunton Titans last season, played few games last winter because of a prolapsed disc in his back. “My back’s ok now,” said Claydon, who played at scrum half and centre for the Babas last season when he was available.Claydon has taken over from Mick Orton who will be very much ‘involved in the management of the team this coming season.’
