A SELL-out audience saw West Somerset’s Tallulah Jayne School of Dance celebrate a major milestone at the weekend as it hosted its first-ever dance showcase.

Youngsters from the Minehead dance school performed before a packed audience in the Lysaght Village Hall, Old Cleeve.

Children as young as three years old took to the stage, performing a wide variety of dance genres and demonstrating the growing talent within the Minehead-based academy.

The dance school was only founded in April by experienced dance teacher Tara Ely, and has grown rapidly, welcoming more than 30 young dancers who took part in the debut performance.

With five years of teaching experience and a strong background in the dance industry, Ms Ely has created a space where students of all ages and abilities can explore their passion for movement.

Ms Ely said: “Seeing our students step on to the stage, some for the very first time, was incredibly special.

“Their confidence, joy, and hard work shone through every routine.

“I am so proud of what we have achieved in such a short time, and I cannot wait to welcome even more dancers into our growing community.

“I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everybody who attended.

“I am so proud of every dancer who was involved, you have all worked incredibly hard as we did not have long to put this all together, so thank you all so much.

“We have lots of things coming up, this was just the start, so hard work is set to begin in January.”

Tallulah Jayne School of Dance is continuing to expand as it looks ahead to 2026 and will be taking on new students across all ages and disciplines.

A spokesperson said Ms Ely’s compassionate nature and professional expertise ensured a fun, supportive, and inspiring learning environment for every child.
