DRIVERS at a community transport scheme in Wiveliscombe took the Mayor of Taunton Deane along for a ride when she joined passengers to see first hand how it all works.

Cllr Vivienne Stock-Williams travelled throughout the morning on Wivey Link with one of the scheme’s first drivers, Charles Absolum, who has been volunteering for 14 years.

Charles took passengers between Wiveliscombe, Cotford St Luke, Bishops Lydeard and Taunton.

“Wivey Link is wonderful and I enjoyed my morning enormously. It gives a chance to people who don’t have transport and is an excellent scheme – there should be Wivey Links everywhere,” said Cllr Stock-Williams.
