THE weather was cold and crisp, the singing and the bands were on top form, and fireworks lit up the sky as magic came to the town for Dulverton by Starlight last Sunday.
Fore Street was closed from 11am and market stalls and entertainment got underway with the South Molton Brass Band officially opening the event in style at 2pm.
Music was plentiful with Take Notes Community Choir singing Christmas songs, as well as carols by All Saints Church led by the vicar, all on stage in the market area, and rounded off by Dulverton’s rock band until the event ended at 7.30pm.
Shops with beautifully decorated Christmas displays were open all day, and Bank Square was fully festive with the large Christmas tree and popular donkey rides, while Davey the Tractor, face painting and visits to Father Christmas were a great hit.

“The day was cold and crisp and clear, then as it got dark the lights were on with the trees and it was all just magical,” said Zoe Williams of the Dunster by Starlight committee.
“We would really like to thank everyone who came and made it such a perfect event.”
