SIR — Three fire engines, one fire service Landrover, two ambulances, two coastguard vehicles and two cars with roof lights attended the rescue of the lady trapped in the mud at Blue Anchor last week (Free Press July 20) probably some 30 staff in total.
Within days, a new warning sign has appeared on the sea wall, whereas if the council had bothered to remove the wild mallow from the steps, a danger sign warning of the mud lurks beneath.
Another cutback perhaps.
B R Stevens,
Blue Anchor.
