SIR — I would like to thank the lovely gentleman who came to my aid as I was walking from Alcombe to Harley House Surgery.

I have COPD and was having breathing difficulties. He very kindly offered me a lift to the surgery. By this time I was very distressed, but his calm demeanour soon made me relax.

I arrived safely at the surgery and after a session on the nebuliser was feeling a lot better.

Thank you once again and also to the staff at the surgery.
