My wife and I are volunteers on the West Somerset Railway.

On Wednesday May 24 we catered for residents from three local care homes on the train.

What a lovely, fun and entertaining journey from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead.

Three local primary schools’ children mixed, chatted and sang with gusto to the residents during the journey.

It was pleasure to witness laughter mixed with the young and the elderly.

Congratulations to the young male student from West Somerset College who had the wisdom and idea to hold this event.

Thank you also to the Minehead and the Quantocks Rotary Cub volunteers.
