LORNA in the Orchard – a celebration of the 150th anniversary of the publication of RD Blackmore’s novel – is open to picnickers in Porlock on Friday.

The free family event takes place in the orchard behind Porlock Visitor Centre from 2pm to 3pm.

Actors from the Pleasure Dome Theatre Company will be performing taster scenes from their open air Lorna Doone production being staged in Lynton.

The theatre company is returning to the Valley of Rocks to revive its 2017 hit production which brings to life the characters in R D Blackmore’s book.

The performances will be followed by a photo opportunity with the cast. Numbers are limited, so free tickets should be collected in advance from Porlock Visitor Centre. Audiences should bring their own seats or rugs.

Refreshments will be available to purchase from The Taylor’d Tipple.

The Valley of Rocks performances run from August 20 to 31 from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Tickets, at £15 adults, £13.50 seniors and £10 children, available via the Pleasure Dome Theatre Company website.
