Motorists are being warned to expect long delays on the M5 following a crash which has closed a section of the motorway since the early hours of the morning.

Emergency services were called to the northbound carriageway between junction 27, A361 Tiverton, and junctions 26, A38 Wellington and Taunton, today (Saturday), at around 2.25am.

The driver of a car involved in the accident was rescued from his vehicle by fire crews. It has been confirmed he did not sustain any serious injuries.
