ONE of the West Somerset Railway’s home fleet locomotives is out of action – but two alternatives have been found.
With loco 7828 undergoing maintenance, the head of mechanical engineering has been in contact with other railways and preservation groups.
The aim was to source reliable locomotives to fulfil commitments to passengers over the height of the season.
It has been confirmed that Manor Class 4-6-0 No 7822 Foxcote Manor, and 7800 Class 4-6-0 No 7820 Dinmore Manor will haul WSR services from early summer to autumn.
