All schools in The Clarion's catchment area declared themselves pleased with results from the GCSE examinations.
The national trend of girls outperforming boys did not happen at Preston School, Yeovil, where the boys for the second year running recorded overall better results.
All Year 11 pupils and staff were congratulated for their hard work and endeavour over the last five years.
The results show that 55 per cent of grades awarded were at A* to C - with all pupils achieving at least one GCSE.
Special praise went to Thomas Potts (who received 10 A*s), Anna Perris (five A*s), Jacob Moffat (three A*s), Louisa Painter, Katherine Perris, Simon Ralph and Jonathan Williams (all two A*s). These pupils achieved a total of 57 grade A and A*s between them.
At Buckler's Mead School, Yeovil, 50 per cent achieved five or more A*-C grades. Ian Cook was the top performer as he registered the equivalent of 14 A*-C passes.
Hannah Turner, Matthew Perkins, Amy Bowden, Simon Stride and Claire Vickery were also included on a list with pupils having achieved "outstanding results".
Close to 16 per cent at Stanchester Community School recorded A* or A grades, while the figure for the magic five or more A*-C grades was 57 per cent.
Eddie Willis got A* or A in nine subjects, just beating Lydia Grant who had eight such grades. Twins Amelia and Hannah Watkins amassed an impressive 19 A* or A grades between them.
Headteacher Glyn Ottery said: "These are another outstanding set of examination achievements. It is very rewarding for the school to achieve an A*-C pass rate of over 50 per cent for the seventh consecutive year."
Westfield Community School, Yeovil, had a 62 per cent A*-C pass rate. It is understood this is the school's highest rate for four years.
