PUPILS and staff at St Peter's First School in Williton have put the finishing touches to a special quiet garden area, which was created in memory of former special educational needs pupil Alisha Logan.

Alisha was just four when she died last year and her sisters Shannon Smith and Abbie Logan were joined by parents Joanna Smith and Mark Logan to plant a Mountain Ash tree in the garden last week.

Children throughout the school were involved in designing the garden and it has taken a full year of hard work to complete the project.

Special educational needs co-ordinator Lynne Williams said Williton firefighters had prepared the ground, while Minehead Tool Hire had provided a digger and Wibble Farm Nurseries had given advice on what to plant.

"All the children helped to design the garden and Alisha's parents put the first spade in last year.

"It's taken a lot of hard work to get to this stage and we would like to thank everyone for their help, particularly Simon Alford for creating the landscaping."
