A person has been rescued from the sea off Minehead by a local lifeboat crew.
News of the operation on Tuesday night emerged in a statement from the organisation operating police helicopters in the region.
It issued a statement on the social media platform Twitter, with a picture of the lifeboat crew rescuing the person from the water just before midnight.
A spokesperson for the National Police Air Service in the South West said: "Good to work with @MineheadRNLI@ASPolice following reports of a person in the water."The prompt response by the lifeboat crew was vital to get the person out of the cold water."We are able to communicate directly to both police officers & lifeboat crews from the aircraft."
