LIAM Hoyle, former Amateur Boxing Champion for Watchet PT & ABC, is pictured at his passing out parade at HMS Raleigh based at Torpoint, in Cornwall, on Friday (January 25). 

And, after ten physically and mentally demanding weeks, he was awarded the Captain’s Prize for being the best overall trainee within his division and the Physical Training Superior Award.

Liam’s Royal Navy training involved drill, weapons training, military fitness, damage control, first aid and navigation, and he excelled in all aspects.

On week two he was promoted to class leader resulting from his commitment, inspirational leadership, passion and decision making.

He was rewarded on the day of his passing out parade with the Captain’s Prize for being the best overall trainee within his division.

The Physical Training Superior Award is given to individuals who demonstrate high levels of physical discipline and who meet ten assessment criteria.

Liam will now progress to HMS Sultan to continue his Royal Navy training in engineering in Gosport, Hampshire.
