THE Ball Ladies – Lez Collins and Julie Webber – are holding another of their charity fundraisers at the Hobby Horse, Minehead, on September 24.

It will be the sixth ball organised by Lez and Julie over the last nine years, and so far they have raised just over £30,000.

This year’s chosen charities are the Minehead RNLI and SURE (Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment) at Musgrove Park Hospital.

The band will be Rough Justice and the event will include a disco by Starturns with Paul Yates as DJ and compere for the evening.

Julie and Lez said that they would not have been able to organise their balls and raise so much money without the support and generosity of the local businesses and people: “Every time we do this, it fills us with warmth as to the caring and giving community we live in..”

The ball on September 24 will start at 7pm. Tickets are £25 from The Hobby Horse
