SIR — May I, through your letters column, thank all of the people who came out to see me on my Christmas Eve journey through Watchet.

More people than ever came out to see me this year and donated a record amount for children's organisations in the town.

Thanks go to the Watchet Minibuses for transporting my helpers and to the Esplanade Club for the supper at the end of a long journey.

As always, many houses were beautifully lit and people offered refreshments which were much appreciated by myself and my helpers.

Wishing you all a happy New Year and I look forward to seeing you next Christmas Eve.
