THE results of a daffodil planting session by members of West Somerset’s Tsunami Judo Club can now be seen by visitors to the Chantry, in Kilve.

The judo players braved the inclement weather in November of last year to plant dozens of bulbs on the site for the East Quantoxhead Estate.

In return, the club received £320 from the estate which will help to support activities for members.

Now, the daffodils are in full bloom around the 14th century Chantry, which is a grade two starred listed building and Scheduled Ancient Monument and was previously registered by English Heritage as one of the most at risk buildings in the country.

It was saved in a major conservation project by volunteers and grants from Historic England which was completed two years ago.

The Williton-based judo club trains in Danesfield School on Monday evenings from 6.30 pm to 9.15 pm.
