KILVE stormed back to form with a comprehensive victory at the sun-blessed beach on Saturday.
After winning the toss and bowling, home captain Ian Wheatley saw his decision justified as new ball bowlers Sylvester and Darnley were immediately in the groove, troubling the opening batsmen with swing and seam.
It was Darnley who made the initial breach, having Thompson caught behind prodding.
Sylvester soon gained his reward for a fine opening spell with an lbw decision and after 14 overs Wells had struggled to 31-2.

Dave Cobb joined the attack and the Wells' innings stalled, with just 15 runs coming in nine overs.
Gerrish's frustration manifested itself in a poor stroke and Cobb's off-cutter removed his leg stump leaving the visitors 70-4.
New batsman Kierl looked to attack and hit a rapid 17 before being deceived by Wheatley and with just nine overs remaining Wells needed rapid acceleration but the introduction of Sylvester and Darnley ensured they could not hit themselves out of trouble.
Hancock grafted hard for 36 but then Darley's slower ball accounted for him and this was the start of a flurry of late order wickets as Darnley, in quick succession, whipped out Hamblin and Maynard, while from the final ball of the innings Sylvester's arms was too good for Andrews.
Wells' final total of 146-9 represented an excellent fielding and bowling performance from a seemingly rejuvenated Kilve team.
With a fast outfield and good wicket at their disposal the home batsmen knew victory was theirs for the taking with a solid performance. Runs were not easy to come by early on as the impressive opening attack of Nick Gerrish and Hancock moved the ball at a good pace.
After two crisp boundaries Nick Richards edged Gerrish behind and Kilve finished the seventh over at 23-1.
Lloyds timing was slow to come but with Wheatley was in control at the other end so the scoreboard was never quiet for too long. The australian took each opportunity to score and soon began to dominate the change bowlers.
As Lloyd started to strike the ball with confidence, the visitor's heads began to drop and it soon became apparent that he and Wheatley were cruising towards victory.
Wheatley reached his third consecutive league fifty and proceeded to unfurl his shots as Kilve lifted their run rate to in excess of four.
Wells tried six bowlers in a vain attempt to derail the home side, but there was to be no Kilve collapse with the partnership between Wheatley and Lloyd reaching an undefeated 125 as they powered to 148-1 in just 36 overs, collecting the maximum 25 points.
Wells: 146-9 (G Hancock 36, S Darnley 4-42).
Kilve: 148-1 (I Wheatley 83 no, S Lloyd 31 no).
