EIGHT-year-old Jessica Ware has beaten more than 1,000 young artists in Hinkley Point A power station's Christmas card competition.

Staff who judged the competition, which was on a safety theme, were particularly impressed by the level of the artwork and many of the design ideas.

Jessica, who goes to Stogumber First School, has won prizes including a £20 book token as well as earning her school £150 to spend.

The station's information officer Sharon Stewart said: "We are very pleased the competition has been such a success. We'd like to thank all who entered and we hope it will be just as popular next year."
