TEACHER Helen Bray sets off on a 200-mile walk from Minehead on Saturday (May 28) in support of her mother and brother, both of whom have been hit by cancer.
Her younger brother, former West Somerset College student Jamie Adams, is currently undergoing cancer treatment and their mother Teresa is now in remission, having been struck by the disease last year.
Teresa, along with friends, will join Helen on the 200-mile stretch of the South West Coast Path with a target of raising £1000 for Cancer Research.
They expect to take will take 16 days to reach Newquay in Cornwall. I will be walking with my mum and other friends to raise money for Cancer Research. Donations can be made online or in the collection box at the Cancer Research shop in Minehead.
“Donations large or small would be very welcome for such a very worthy cause,” said Helen.
“A w third of all people in the UK will suffer from cancer during their lifetime.”
Anyone wishing to cheer them on their way can do so at 9.30am by the Coast Path statue.
