SIR — So the suggestion by last week's lorry driver correspondent is to demolish the Co-Op et al and Mamsey House and sell the police station and post office (Your Letters May 17).
Fore Street would allow buses, taxis, maintenance crews and delivery/collection drivers, yet be paved and cobbled, with trees and shrubs.
There would be a plethora of roundabouts, through roads, dual carriageways, road signs and bollards.
A lorry driver can see the big picture, rather than the parochial fears and misconceptions of some "natives and residents", we are told by your correspondent.
