A TRAINING session for volunteers who would like to be involved with Exmoor’s Historic Signpost Project is being held on Tuesday (August 1).

The project aims to refurbish the distinctive cast iron signposts around Exmoor to their former glory.

The training, provided by Stuart Hoddinott of Civil Skills Plus, will cover everything people will need to know about working safely on a highway.

Trained volunteers will then be able to help clean and repaint surveyed signposts, with all activities being co-ordinated by Exmoor National Park Authority’s historic signpost project officer Charlotte Thomas,.

The training session takes place from 6.30pm to 9pm at the Moorland Hall in Wheddon Cross.
