RESIDENTS of West Somerset whose homes could be threatened by flash floods can seek help from a new scheme run the Rotary Club of Minehead’s emergency volunteer action group hub.

A group spokesperson said: “Flash floods are becoming a part of the Somerset scene and homes in your community are no exception.”

The group, which trains and organises Rotarians and Inner Wheel members, is offering a free survey of any home that has been flooded or that might be at risk of flooding.

The local EVAG hub covers West Somerset and has the support of Somerset Council.

It holds a supply of flood-alleviation items that can be made available, at a much-reduced cost, to West Somerset residents.
