MONKSILVER Church Fête, which hauls up its anchor at 2pm on Saturday has a piratical theme and promises lots of hearty fun.

Dave Milton will be singing sea shanties and entertaining the children with Punch and Judy, the Exmoor Zoo will visit from 2pm to 3pm, and teas, home-made cakes, local produce, plants and raffles will all be on board.

An Anne Cotterill giclée print, kindly donated by the Bellflower Gallery, will be raffled and there will also be a special opportunity to buy an original Anne Cotterill painting, ‘Red Geraniums in a Flower Pot with Garden Boots’.
