SIR — We hope that the heartless car driver who drove through Wootton Courtenay at approximately 9.30pm on Sunday, July 3, will spare a thought for Bertie, our ginger and white cat, who they killed near the bottom of our drive. You can't drive right over a large cat like Bertie and not know about it, but they drove on and left him there to die. Out neighbour found him shortly after it happened. He was our cat and we loved him but now he's dead because of that heartless speeding driver - and you know who you are even if we don't. Sheila and Larry Conrad, Puzzle Tree, Wootton Courtenay.
