A NEW event, aimed at helping people in West Somerset focus on and improve their health and wellbeing, is being held in Minehead on Wednesday, December 13.

Hosted by Minehead Jobcentre Plus, it offers a chance for people to meet representatives from a range of community organisations that offer opportunities to develop confidence, health and wellbeing.

It aims to promote the importance of health and wellbeing, whether through finding a new hobby or accessing additional support, and is part of the West Coast 360 initiative.

This project brings together West Somerset Council, partners and employers to raise skills and improve prospects for those in the hospitality and tourism industries.

The event is free, open to all and runs from 10am to 12.30pm. Specialist support agencies are also due to be there.

Those attending include Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership (SASP), Moor to Explore, Channel Adventure, Getset children’s services, West Somerset Advice Bureau, West Somerset job hubs, Magna housing, Somerset Waste Partnership, Zing, CAP Christians Against Poverty, Engage, Smokefree Somerset, Village Agent representatives and a health and wellbeing coach.
