I wonder how many readers of the July 26 edition of the Free Press spotted a planning application for Selworthy and Minehead Without, no 6/29/199/108, suggesting that we are in need of another camping side at the disused coastguard station at Hurlestone Point, Bossington.
Food hygiene ratings handed to 14 Somerset establishments
Emergency services on scene of Exmoor crash with Stork Bram winds making A39 'unsafe'
Community support as heads cycle to all eight Moorland Federation schools in a day
Feasibility study for Minehead public swimming pool to be funded by Government grantWould it be a boot camp for campers with vertigo?
The National Trust has been very discreet about its application, not thinking of consulting with the local community regarding this very special, tranquil place.
Never mind that there is no need for another camping site, it seems the National Trust has abandoned in this case its core values to protect and look after special places.
A Hodge, Porlock.
