ALLERFORD and Selworthy Community Hall – which lost its roof in a storm – is to re-open on Saturday April 14 with a jazz night.

The hall has been closed for 12 weeks since the storm damage in January and the planned performance by the Darktown Strutters had to be postponed.

The rescheduled evening of jazz and dancing starts at 7.30pm; doors and bar open at 7pm. Tickets cost £10, including supper, and are available from Summerland Pet Supplies, Allerford Stores and Spar, Porlock, or phone 01643 862831 or 07980 595989.

All the regular events – yoga, tai chi, pilates, bingo and the craft and book morning – will be restarting from April 16. More information is available on the Allerford and Selworthy Hall website.
