MINEHEAD and District Gardeners’ Association held its 60th annual flower show on Saturday (August 12) at the West Somerset College.
The show was very well supported by local growers and crafts people, with 100 people presenting nearly 600 exhibits, turning the hall into a riot of colour.
A number of new exhibitors entered and the organisers were also encouraged to see many more youngsters entering the children’s section.
The judges found the standard overall to be very high, particularly in the floral art and home craft classes. Deputy Mayor Cllr Roger Thomas presented the cups and trophies
As the weather was pleasant, visitors were able to enjoy tea and cakes on the patio.
