TRACEY Clayton, of Fitzhead, is organising a special ‘ginger’ walk and events next Saturday (February 20) to raise money for Cornwall Search and Rescue Team, who were “so dedicated" in the search for her son Josh.
It is five months since he disappeared from the Isle of Tresco where he was working, his body being found in the sea ten days later.
The fundraising walk and events will be on a ‘ginger’ theme in memory of Josh’s colouring.
Walkers, accompanied by six members of Cornwall Search and Rescue Team plus one of their dogs, will start at the Fitzhead Inn at 10am on Saturday, walking to The Bear Inn in Wiveliscombe.
A special hog roast will be held there, with all profits going to the fundraising, and there will then be a walk back to the Fitzhead Inn for a special ‘ginger’ Chinese buffet – plus donated cakes and biscuits for a ginger picnic along the way.
Anyone is welcome to join in the sponsored walk or meet at the pubs, or can donate on the Cornwall Search and Rescue Team website at http://cornwallsar.org.uk and mention ‘Josh’s picnic’ in the message.
