LOCAL businesses helped to bring some Christmas cheer to residents at the Mayfair residential home in Minehead.
West Somerset firms donated a range of goodies for a draw which saw residents being given tickets to win prizes from the gifts on offer.
The home looks after residents with a range of mental health issues and worker Leila Wightman said staff were extremely grateful for the support of local companies.
There are currently 16 residents at the home, many of whom are not in contact with their relatives, and for them, the raffle gifts made a huge difference.
A home spokesman added: "We pride ourselves that the Mayfair is a home where the people have their say and make the decisions.
"The residents were excited about the free raffle and over the moon that people in the community wanted to give them gifts.
"Half of of the people in the house do not have any relatives they are in contact with, therefore it was nice for them to receive extra presents.
"The Mayfair wants to say a big thank you to all the local businesses for all their generosity."
