RESIDENTS of an Exmoor village will hear a talk on Thursday (October 9) about Israel’s conflict with the Hamas terrorist group in Gaza.
It will be delivered by former British Ambassador to Israel Sir Andrew Burns, who now lives on Exmoor.
The talk, titled ‘Gaza - what’s it all about?’, will cover ‘the current very disturbing situation in the Middle East’.
Those attending the event in Wootton Courtenay Village Hall will also be able to ask questions of Sir Andrew, who was the ambassador from 1992 to 1995.
Sir Andrew is currently chairman and strategy director of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance.
There will be a retiring collection in aid of Oasis of Peace UK, a British charity which supports peaceful co-existence between Palestinian and Jewish Israelis, the British Friends of Neve Shalom/Wahat al Salam, with which Sir Andrew has long been involved.
