THERE is more than a smell of the sea at Minehead's Bampton Street fish bar – there is also the sound of money pouring into a lifeboat collecting box.

Owner Kully Kaur is recycling unwanted books brought in by her customers at 50 pence a time, with buyers able to peruse the titles on a donated set of bookshelves while they wait for their chips to cook.

In the last year alone, sales have topped almost £800, all of it going to help offset the running costs of Minehead's RNLI station.
