NEARLY 150 people took the chance to find out more about enjoying a better lifestyle by picking up some top tips at the district's first healthy living fair in Williton on Saturday.
West Somerset Council teamed up with representatives from local voluntary sector organisations, Williton Children's Centre and Williton GP Surgery to stage the one-stop shop for health and well-being.
Local people were able to find out about a whole range of options to enable them to make improvements to their lifestyle and enjoy a better quality of life.
Representatives from leisure organisation 1610 were at the council's offices at West Somerset House providing blood pressure checks as well as advice and information on junior, adult and seniors activities in West Somerset.
People were also introduced to Magnahousing association's support network, including Meals on Wheels, home helps and gardening services.
Other organisations taking part in the fair included Age UK Somerset, Compass Disability Services, Engage West Somerset and children's charity CLOWNS.
Angela Summers, the district council's housing and community project lead, said: "The healthy living fair has been well received by the local community and we successfully reached many of our older and vulnerable people in the local area.
"There is potential to build on this year's success and to investigate holding a similar event in Minehead in 2015, followed by a further event in 2016 in Dulverton for the Exmoor area."
