A BUILDING supplies company with branches in Minehead and Watchet will be raising money for the area’s children’s hospices under a new three-year agreement.
RGB Building Supplies and CRS Building Supplies, which operate across the region, will support Children’s Hospice South West as their chosen corporate charity.
“We are so pleased to be partnering the hospices for the next three years,” said managing director Danny Spokes. “The work they do at their three hospices is truly essential, providing a sanctuary and support for families facing unimaginable challenges.
“Having supported them previously, we know how dedicated their team is and we look forward to bringing that same passion and enthusiasm to our fundraising activities, to help them continue their wonderful work.”
CHSW provides specialist palliative care, respite for the whole family, a sibling support service and emergency care at their three hospices which are at Little Bridge House in North Devon, Charlton Farm in North Somerset, and Little Harbour in mid-Cornwall.
Hayley Wallbank, the hospices’ regional partnerships fundraiser, said of the new commitment: “The support from businesses like RGB and CRS is absolutely crucial to allow us to continue offering our services free of charge to families across the region.
“We are incredibly thankful for their renewed support to fundraise for us over the next three years. Every pound raised will help us make the most of short and precious lives.”
RGB and CRS Building Supplies hosted their first fundraising event at their recent South West conference, raising over £2,300 through donations and a silent auction with items donated by suppliers and manufacturers who attended the event.
Both businesses plan to launch a series of joint fundraising initiatives across their branches in the coming months, encouraging staff, customers and the local community to get involved in supporting the charity.
