AN innovative new dining experience is due to launch on November 1 at Wyndham House, Minehead, to support couples and families who have a loved one living with dementia.

Enjoying company over an indulgent meal out is a simple pleasure that should be available to everyone.

But sometimes people living with dementia cannot cope with a sedate restaurant and the dining experience can become unintentionally precarious and stressful for all concerned.

Somerset Care’s Wyndham House offers a dementia friendly environment for couples and families to enjoy great food, each other’s company and a fantastic evening.

A specially developed three-course menu will be freshly prepared on-site by the head cook, and the experienced and dedicated team will be on hand to wait on diners’ every need.

And if the bring their own bottles, they can even enjoy a glass or two of wine.

Wyndham House manager Donna Howitt said: “Helping people to enjoy a meal out with family and loved ones is just another way we can make a small difference.

“I am so proud of the team, who have worked really hard to develop a first class, three course menu. We look forward to welcoming our guests and supporting wonderful social occasions.”

Wyndham House offers dementia care and support that includes respite and residential within the home itself, along with day care through the on-site Petals Active Living Centre.
