A WEST Somerset country pub badly damaged by fire nearly two years ago re-opened last Sunday to a warm welcome from locals.

The 15th century Farmers’ Arms at Combe Florey, has been completely reconstructed after being gutted by fire in January 2017.

Tim Young, who owns the pub with Jane Bishop, said: “It’s great to be open again and it was good to see all the locals coming back. Everyone liked the look of the new bar.”

The rebuild includes a new dining area and kitchen, an extended bar and improved toilets and disabled facilities.
