A FAMILY-friendly recruitment day is being held next week in Butlin’s Minehead holiday resort with 100 jobs available - just weeks after the company put staff through redundancy consultations with the aim of cutting 250 posts across its three sites.

Now, the firm, the largest employer in West Somerset, is hosting a Minehead recruitment day on Wednesday, June 17, which it said was ‘for anybody looking to kick-start their career or try something new’.

The day will run from 3 pm to 7 pm and will be showcasing the wide range of roles available across the Minehead resort, with more than 100 full-time and seasonal positions on offer.

The recruitment day has been designed with families in mind.

The four-hour event will be hosted by the famous Redcoats, and the on-site nursery will help keep children entertained, allowing parents to speak to recruiters and Butlin’s leaders without needing to worry about childcare.

The recruitment team is looking for more than 50 individuals who can get stuck into the fast-paced ‘Team Member Plus’ role.

It is a position which offers an opportunity to gain hospitality experience in a range of departments, while earning £13.71 per hour.

‘Team Member Plus’ roles support the accommodation cleaning team on Mondays and Fridays, with the remaining contracted hours spent working with another department, which could include catering, restaurants, or leisure.

Alongside those roles Butlin’s Minehead is also recruiting across a variety of teams, including lifeguards, bar team, part-time cleaners, and seasonal team.

There are also vacancies for a new ‘Supervisor Plus’ role where successful candidates lead a team to ensure standards and compliance are maintained across departments while supporting with accommodation on Mondays and Fridays.

Leaders from across the business will be available to discuss opportunities and answer questions at dedicated showcase tables.

They will be able to provide information about specific jobs and give candidates the chance to explore shift patterns and benefits.

The open recruitment day is free to attend, and pre-registration can be completed via the Butlin’s careers website or on arrival.

Interviews are available on the day, and attendees are encouraged to take along an up to date CV.

Butlin’s Minehead resort director Craig Goodwin said: “After the success of our first family-friendly event earlier in the year, we look forward to welcoming local jobseekers to our Minehead resort.

“Our open recruitment day will showcase the wide variety of positions we have on offer and is a great way for candidates to understand our culture and values.

“Having a space for parents to leave their children while they discuss potential job opportunities in more details is something we know will make a big difference.

“Butlin's Minehead is one of the region’s largest employers and with our own on-site nursery, it is a great place for parents looking to start or develop a career in hospitality.”

The Minehead resort has more than 1,200 staff employed annually during the peak of the tourism season.
