VOLUNTEERS who help look after Exmoor’s rights of way have been shortlisted for a Campaign for National Parks award and £2000 bursary.

Volunteers sought to help with one of Exmoor's most spectacular natural phenomenonsThe volunteer Path Watchers scheme was set up by staff from Exmoor National Park Authority’s access and recreation team.
Path Watchers report, refresh way-marks and carry out minor repairs to gates and signs.
So far, the 12 Path Watchers have surveyed over 300km of paths across 15 parishes.
Now the scheme is in line for a Park Protector Award which recognises exceptional projects or people that have made a lasting contribution to the protection, restoration or conservation of the national parks of England and Wales.
