AN organisation which puts on trail races in some of the UK’s most iconic areas and abroad has become the latest business champion for Exmoor charity CareMoor.

Maverick Race has been a keen supporter of the charity for a number of years and has now formally cemented its relationship.

The company has organised challenging ultra races across Exmoor for several years, and its next Exmoor Goat Race is coming up on Saturday, May 3.

Every entry will see £1 given to CareMoor for Exmoor.

Race director Brittany Saville said: “At Maverick Race, we believe in giving back to the landscapes that inspire us.

“Exmoor’s wild trails and untamed beauty are at the heart of our events, and by supporting CareMoor for Exmoor, we are helping to protect, preserve, and respect this special place for today’s runners and tomorrow’s explorers.”

An Exmoor National Park Authority (ENPA) spokesperson thanked Maverick for joining it in supporting ‘nature, heritage, and community projects’.

The spokesperson said: “Your commitment helps us to continue making a positive impact.

“Welcome to the CareMoor family.”

The Exmoor Goat Race starts near Lynton and has four routes ranging from a short 15 kilometres to an ultra 56 kilometres reaching as far as Porlock Weir.

The routes take in parts of the South West Coastal Path with its ‘stunning views and savage climbs’, and each is billed as ‘challenging’ for all levels of runner.

A Maverick spokesperson said: “The Exmoor Goat Ultra event is not for the faint-hearted but we know that trail runners of all abilities will be capable of completing one of the four distances on offer if they commit to the challenge ahead and put their mind to it.”

Money raised by CareMoor helps to keep Exmoor special for future generations by supporting ENPA work to conserve its landscape, habitat, footpaths, and heritage.
