FORTUITOUSLY, coinciding with a spell of chilly West Somerset weather, Porlock Weir art teacher Dan Bryant has just published his latest children’s book ‘Shoes for Bigfoot’.

The story follows ‘Dave’ the Bigfoot on his mystical quest to find shoes big enough to keep his frosty toes warm.

Written in the rhyme structure of ‘The Gruffalo’, the book is readable for all ages.

Mr Bryant said: “The book has been available on the Kindle platform for a few years now, but having used the text as a starting point for a series of art lessons with my students, I decided it merited publishing in paperback form.

“There really is no substitute for a physical book you can hold and cherish.

“Reading is such a fundamental skill for children to master and an engaging, fun, and entertaining rhyming story is such a great hook to get them wanting more.”

Shoes for Bigfoot’ explores a magical world inhabited by some familiar creatures from myth, fairy tale, and even the silver screen.

The book also contains some of Mr Bryant’s students’ illustrations of ‘Dave’ from their art lessons.

With a life-long passion for conjuring up stories and filling them with colourful characters, his imaginative thinking and creative flair brings his stories to life in engaging and entertaining ways.

Mr Bryant’s other published children’s books include ‘Six Year Old Sidney, the skateboarding boy’, a heart-warming story featuring Sidney as he follows his dreams.

The story shows readers that they can succeed in many different ways.

A special hardback edition is due to be published soon.

Another of Mr Bryant’s popular books, ‘Up!’ features a frog who dreams of a better life, only to ask if the grass isactually always greener on the other side.

Copies can be purchased from the Lulu bookstore online and via a link on Mr Bryant’s website.
