THE National Trust is teaming up with local walking groups this month to invite visitors to discover the wild beauty, rich history, and varied scenery of the Lorna Doone Valley.
A week of free guided walks will be held from September 8 to 14, covering everything from peaceful riverside paths to rewarding hill climbs, and a walk celebrating the 200th birthday of ‘Lorna Doone’ author R.D. Blackmore.
Each route explores iconic locations such as Oare Church, Badgworthy Water, Robber’s Bridge, and Malmsmead Hill.
Programming and partnerships officer James Adams said: “These routes have been carefully chosen to showcase Exmoor, and we hope they will inspire people and give them the confidence to further enjoy Exmoor and being out in nature.”
More information is on the trust’s website.
